smart-casual
Christmas fancy dress

Can I not have to buy a new dress please. Thanks.
You could do decades or something then people can dress in black tie if they want... and Pete can whip out his rave Mick Jagger again.
Imagine the possibilites of a suited and booted, Santa Claus with a mask on and trainers. That is the stuff of legend or nightmare depending on your previous Xmas experience.

I think the decade idea worls quite well.. that way you'll get to rave till the grave pete!
Some people get get all dressy and everyone else can just wear smart stuff and claim that there from the 21st century.. happy days?
At the risk of being accused of 'sitting on the fence', we could just have a 'wear what you want' policy. I'm sure that small groups of masqueraders/ black-ties/ rubber chickens/ drag queens, etc will form so nobody would look daft or out of place and we could set a rule of 'not too casual', or 'no trainers' or something?
I think that is an excellent suggestion Rachel. Then everyone can chose. Freedom of choice is important. Or if we go for christmas fancy dress then people can always fancy dress as something smart?! x
