Thank you! That's really kind of you. I thought it was going really badly, I've had loads of problems with the audio thing, I lost it about 8 times and had to keep re-publishing so you've cheered me right up! Have a great christmas x

Hello Sarah! Any joy with your SWN project? I had some today down with the art exhibition! Also decided rather than buy a ticket (or wangle a freebie) for the whole weekend I would stick to simply seeing The Hot Puppies at Chapter Arts. It's about time I saw them!

About Me:
I'm just 22 and I come from Shropshire. I just finished my English Lit degree at Exeter University, the home of all things posh and drunken, and am slowly adjusting to life in the bigger and more diverse Cardiff. I love the sea, and think my spritual home is in north Cornwall - at least, when I'm not deciding that it's probably in London. I love fashion and music but I wouldn't consider myself an expert in either. Other interests include books, photography, friends and family, big dogs, sarcasm, and Shakespeare.

Walking into Cardiff’s Buffalo Bar on the second afternoon of Sŵn festival 2007, Saturday 10th November, you would have been forgiven for thinking that this event had been established years ago. The crowd was pa

Digital Love - Kim Hollamby, Head of Electronic Media, IPC, 29/11/07

Kim Hollamby's lecture, "The professional journalist in 2008 - dinosaur or essential survivor?" brought up two important points which were a welcome bolt from the blue. The repeated talk of user-generated-content this term has made me feel more like a user guiltily masquerading as a journalist than a journalist using the users. Today we were co

The changing scene of internet news: Pete Clifton, BBC interactive, 8-11-07

The message that every lecture we have had so far this term has basically been that media is making an inorexible move towards the online market. I think Pete Clifton's lecture summed this up well, both in its implications for us as journalists and in its implications for t

Scrapbooks in sepia; Digital Storytelling. Daniel Meadows, 25-10-07

Daniel Meadows’s lecture today - "Digital Storytelling and Understanding a Citizen Media" – made me truly think. It wasn't just the content of the films, which were admittedly touching, but Daniel's own manner which was surprisingly involved. When he talked about big media as stone bastions on gateposts, Daniel seemed like he really meant what he was say

Capturing Cardiff - Swn and Cardiff as a major music player

For my Capturing Cardiff assignment, I propose to look at the rise of Cardiff as a major UK music venue through the upcoming Swn festival. The festival, hosted by Huw Stephens, showcases many bands in verious Cardiff venues. It is the first of its kind, finally marking out Cardiff as a major player on the UK music scene.

I wish to examine the way Cardiff has established itself as a home of great bands and how it impacts on the rest of the UK. Has t
