In introduction to this post I must say this was in reaction to one of my fellow students. It demonstrates not only the reactive nature of internet feeback and blogging, but also the danger of democratic dreams about the web. The author in question (cited below) was subject to something of a blogswarm for his ill considered comments.

Last Thursday, 1st November 2007 marked the sad death of Thomas Wilson Ferebee. He was the bombardier on the Enola Gay. Hiroshima marked the end of the age of large scale industrialised war. The technology which drove it had reached its apex with the harnessing of atomic fission (and later fusion).
