When Dissertation Troubles Surrounded Me:
This is an appreciative letter to thank the people who provided pin-point and professional dissertation help at the time when I was totally disappointed and had braced myself to meet the disaster regarding my PhD degree. It was the worst time of my life when I even thought of my dissertation disapproval.
I was busy working and handling my social life. You can say that I was hanging in bala… Continue

Media is one of the fastest growing industries in Cardiff, with many organisations based around the regenerated Cardiff Bay. But are things as healthy as they seem?
Since the success of Russell T. Davies’ re-launch of Doctor Who and its sister programme Torchwood, Car… Continue

One day, I decided to take on my time to go and give my blood. I am a real activist so this means a lot to me and I usually give my blood several times a year.
So, after a short day of class, there I go, to the Students Union. I queue, as usual (I think I’m getting used to this very strange habit…). The only thing that differs is that I have to queue for quite a long time before someone actually talks to me. And when I say “quite a long time”, I mean 1 hour! Never mind… After that time, someone… Continue

I wonder why I was attracted to this piece when it popped up on my Netvibes feeds

By the way, when I say "I don't want to start an argument" I do not mean "I don't want anyone to comment on this". Freedom of speech, (rights of) man! Continue

A pressing matter. I reckon Vanilla Ice looks like Daniel Day Lewis but not many seem to agree with me, so I took the liberty of photoshopping Mr Ice as Daniel Plainview from There Will Be Blood. Any takers?
Second marking the Ning blogs has been an interesting experience. Not only has it given me a chance to review the various arguments that exploded during the course of the module, it has also revealed a pretty persistent strand of thinking that can be characterised as:
"I have paid a lot of money to go to university and this puts me in a superior position to the people who have not done so.
"Therefore I will make a better journalist than those other people."
I make no comment about this, I do… Continue
Capturing Cardiff: History or Ownership- the Changing faces of Butetown
“That’s another thing they are going to ruin soon, its progress they call it”- quote by Butetown resident David Thomas.
Butetown in Cardiff was once renowned for being one of Britain’s most famous multi cultural working class communities but as you walk through the streets now the differenc… Continue
“See I was talking about it with a guy in work, you know, about doing the LPC, and he was suggesting IT, because they’ve got these training programs where
they’ll pay your fees and all the rest of it. But then, even if I do my
LPC, I’ve still got to get my training contract, and that just seems
like a lot of work. In truth, I just want to level my dwarf. Please,
just all of them, leave me alone and let me get to level 70.”
I was 15 years old when I first saw The Fast and the Furious. Here we had a film that would inspire a million youths to blemish their Vauxhall Novas with day-glo accessories in hopes of emulating their big
screen hero Vin Diesel and his underground street racing subculture.
In spite of Cardiff’s shiny and new public facade, like any city its retained a ‘dark side’ where the city’s outcasts live in its shadows .Whilst the public buildings of the Bay are a symbol of the city’s ambition, people with aspirations of a more basic kind find themselves neglected due to an anomaly in Wales’ services for heroin addicts.
“You have to enter the criminal justice system and commit a crime to have any hope of treatment”
Perhaps there are perfectly reasonable explanations for all us pretty much abandoning dear old Ning once Capturing Cardiff was over and done with. Christmas and all the associated visits from elderly relatives certainly take up a fair chunk of December and early January, and the public admin exam needed some TLC as well.
There has been top-flight rugby on the banks of the Taff in Cardiff for over a hundred years. In its many guises Cardiff Arms Park has played host to some of the finest players of all time, and some victories and occasions that are comparable to almost any sporting arena in the world. On September 19th 2007
From November 30th to December 2nd Cardiff, Swansea and the surrounding forests turned into a playground for some of the greatest drivers in the world. For one weekend the World Rally Championship (WRC) came to town to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Rally GB and to get on with the important business of deciding who would be crowned champions in 2007.
So, newspapers have potential to get back to the forefront of breaking news with their online presence, and Richard
Burton’s been leading
the way. And if this is what saves print, then this is a good thing
– although to be honest I agree with
