Adding audio to your blog posts

IMPORTANT: YOU NEED TO USE FIREFOX BROWSER IN ORDER TO SEE THE RIGHT CODE TO EMBED BOTH VIDEO AND AUDIO!



This is not quite as tricky as it might first appear....honest!

Step 1 - Convert your .wav audio files to MP3s.

Assignment 2: Online "Capturing Cardiff" Feature - 70%

The second assignment is a piece on online journalism.

The DEADLINE is Friday, December 21st.

It should be 700-800 words long and it needs to be a piece of reporting/short feature writing. Pure opinion or criticism is not permitted.

The story should be written as an online magazine feature - incorporating a news angle with feature writing techniques.

The theme of the assignment is "Capturing Cardiff" and your story can cover the following beats:

Nokia Feedback Part II

Have just come out of a meeting with Nokia Trend Labs to do a debrief about last Thursday's workshop day.

I conveyed the comments and feedback that you have been putting up here on Ning. They, and I, agree that we will need to better explain how Nokia Trend Labs can offer a forum for experimental mobile journalism the next time they work with a school of journalism.

Post Nokia and Feedback

Hey all,

So Nokia Trend Labs came to us yesterday and some of you probably thought it was worthwhile and a number of you have already blogged and commented that it was a not a good day.

Let me throw my thoughts out there so they can act as a lightning rod seeing as I arranged this Nokia collaboration.

Assignment 1: Blogging the Lectures (30% of Final Mark)

As a minimum, include a post after each lecture presented by visiting speakers. Posts should NOT be a summary of the lecture, but should be your commentary upon what you consider to be the key issues arising, and should be no longer than 250 words.
